Before you buy a single bolt, spend time thinking about placement. In my experience, most dock owners default to the far end of the dock, assuming that’s where fish cleaning belongs. That can work, however it often puts you far from your water supply and creates a long run for drainage. I prefer positioning the station along the side of the dock, roughly two-thirds of the way toward the end. That keeps it accessible without crowding your boat slip.

How to Build Fish Cleaning Station Dock Structure Step by Step

Total build time for a competent DIYer is one full weekend — roughly 12 to 14 hours including layout, cutting, and finishing.
